Belly dancers shake their stuff for charity

AN Egyptian evening extravaganza, raised much-needed cash for children with special educational needs on the West Bank of the Nile. Hosted by sta ff a t

Clitheroe Travel, the fun- filled evening was held at the town’s Olive Press restaurant and was a huge success, featuring tradi tional Egyptian food, belly dancing and a raffle. Having visited Egypt in

October last year, Mr Nigel Pratt, proprietor of Clitheroe Travel and chah- man of CUtheroe Chamber of Trade, was so touched by the work of the charity. The project provides

Walk was a flat one

GLASSON Dock was the start point for Clitheroe Ramblers’ flattest walk of the year. On a dull and breezy day, 21 walk- ers followed the disused railway line east to Conder Green. They then turned north through Seafield Plantation and Water loo, reaching the side of Meldhorn Wood Golf Course. After passing Low Wood and Aldcliffe Marsh, the ramblers reached the outskirts of Lancaster. At the Millennium Bridge, the walkers

followed the footpath up the only climb of the day, to Lancaster Castle. The route then took the party through the t o p to reach the Lancaster Canal, following it south past Galgate, to Canal Junction. The ramblers passed Thurnham Mill before arriving back at Glasson Dock.
