About 75 people attended the Mother ing Sunday servnce at St Nicholas's Church. Flowers were given out by the children to the women in the congregation and afterwards the Thursday Club mem bers held a coffee morning in the church hall. This was well attended and there was a cake stall and raffle. The event raised £170 for funds and the Thursday Club wishes to thank everyone for their support. On Easter Saturday, April 7th, there will bean East er Garden Service at 4 p.m.
Paper The next waste paper collection is on Tues day morning when old newspapers, mag azines, junk mail etc should be left outside as near to the kerb as possible in the white hessian sacks provid ed. They will be col lected by the borough council's recycling service.

WRVS volunteers are urgently needed in Mellor and Saleshury, Longridge and Chatburn.
The volunteers will be fully trained and all expenses are paid. WRVS volunteers are very active in the local community delivering hot lunchtime meals to the elderly and isolated.
For many recipients the friendly WRVS volunteer is the only social contact.
They look forward to seeing a friendly face and having a quick
chat. Drivers and helpers, men and women, are needed now to continue this much needed serv ice.
