Ladies’ Luncheon Club, was founded seven years ago and peaked a t a membership of almost 500 local women, aged from 18 to 80 years. Many still meet regularly for social events to


raise funds for a Cancer Research UK spon­ sored study into the causes of childhood can­ cers. The study, which is ongoing, is being led from Manchester Children’s Hospital by Pro­ fessor Jillian Birch and so far, members have raised more than £360,000 for its coffers. To continue the momentum, new blood is


being sought and to help attract it, Clitheroe design consultancy Ginger Pumpkin, of the Market Square, has designed its first official logo. The logo uses the club’s initials and also re-affirms its link with a recently formed Skip- ton-based sister branch, the White Rose Ladies’ Club, by incorporating its initials.
