PITY the poor pudding perfectors at Farm house Fare. Imagine the sheer monotonous tedium of hav
ing to taste test yet another devilishly delicious handmade award-winning pudding. It is a tough job, but someone has got to do i t . . . and now that someone could be you. For Farmhouse Fare is looking to recruit a seri
ous and dedicated volunteer taster panel to attend tasting sessions once a month at its head quarters at Lincoln Way, Clitheroe. A cross-section of the public is wanted with
people of all ages and walls of life free to apply. The only proviso is that volunteers should be
available to attend taste meetings one morning a month at the company HQ.
In return, the panel of tasters will be given a
tour of the site and a briefing about the task ahead - followed by the part you have all been waiting for - payment in pudding. A “bank” of around 30 to 40 tasters will be cho
Sunny welcome greets our royal guest
THERE was a warm royal welcome to the Kib ble Valley for the Queen and the Duke of Edin burgh - even the sun made a rare appearance! As the r o ^ party made its way from Black
burn to Dunsop Bridge, children and adults lined the route through Langho, Billington and Whalley. Pupils from St Leonard’s School, Lang ho caught a'glhnpse of the special guests - the royal car slowing down .as the Queen waved at
the youngsters. In Billington, residents gath ered outside the post office waving and welcom ing the Queen and Duke to the Ribble Valley. Hun^eds of people made their way to the Cen
tre of the Kingdom at Dunsop Bridge where the Queen visited Puddleducks Cafe and a copy of the Advertiser and Times caught her eye. • Read all about it - pages 3,20,21,22 and

sen, of whom eight to 10 will be randomly selected to attend a tasting session. Managing Director Helen Colley explained:
“We’re simply looking for honest and unbiased views on our puds - our tastebuds here at Farm house Fare have been tickled and tantalised and now it’s time for the true experts’ turn to advise us on what’s divine and delicious. We want to give the public the, chance to be as passionate about our puddings as we are!” She added: “I believe i t’s important that we
involve the local consumers in this - obtaining information and opinions about our existing prod-
nets and new product development from the peo ple around us is vital. “We all know knowledge is power and this panel
will empower us with more confidence, ultimately providing consumers with what they deem delec table.” Anyone wanting to put themselves forward for
this amazing opportunity can pick up an applica tion form from the reception at Farmhouse Fare or the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times. Our picture shows Roberta Herd, customer
accounts executive, appealing for pudding testers at Farmhouse Fare. (A300506/6)
