FAF, the “rural mortgage specialist” arm of Nat West, has appointed Tim Milne- Redhead (pictured) as regional manager covering the north of England, with the brief to grow the share of the long term rural mortgage market and develop FAF’s presence in the north. He attended Clitheroe Royal Grammar
School between 1979-1986 where he sat, and was successful in, 0 and A-level exam inations. Rather than progress to univer sity, he decided that he wished to join the ranks of paid employment and was suc cessful in obtaining a place on a Manage ment Development Programme at NatWest. The programme was successful and
ensured that he was fast tracked to junior management within a four-year period. Since this time Mr Milne-Redhead has undertaken a number of different roles throughout the NatWest/Royal Bank of Scotland Group gaining experience and promotion. From his first appointment at the
branch at York street in Clitheroe, he has now worked at many of the NatWest Offices throughout East Lancashire and worked latterly as a manager within the bank’s Premium Department, which involved dealing with the bank’s high net worth individuals. Still living in Clitheroe,
he is well aware of the issues that are facing both the rural market place and agricul ture in particular. Mr Milne-Redhead is married to
Y'vonne, a chartered accountant, and has two children, Angus and Cara. While fam ily life takes up much of his time, he still finds time to be a season ticket holder at Burnley Football Club, and follow Brad ford Bulls rugby league team. Aside from this he is a lover of mountaineering, drama, and his goal is to walk to base camp at Everest.
Special events for Young Farmers
MEMBERS of Clitheroe Young Farmers’ Club have enjoyed several events in the past few weeks, includ ing a visit to the golf driv ing range, in Clitheroe, and an e.xcellent talk by James Spurgeon and Brent Stansfield on tractor pulling. Members were invited
to the home of James Spurgeon where they viewed the tractor he uses for his tractor pulling com petitions. New members between
the ages of 10 and 26 are welcome to join Clitheroe YFC where a wide and varied programme of events is promised. Next week’s meeting is a
talk in Pendleton Village Hall at 7-45 p.m.
Shearling gimmers entered the arena
IT was the turn of shearling gim mers to enter the exhibition arena in mid-September during what is by far the busiest month of the entire show year at Craven Cattle Marts’, Skipton Auction Mart.
A 10-strong pen of mules from
Fox Farms, based at Withgill, Clitheroe, was awarded first prize by judge Darryll Shimwell, of Mat- lock, Derbyshire. Fox Farms is run by Vincent Fox and his three sons
Edward, Peter and Robert. Their prizewinning pen sold for £125 per head to John Mellin, of Hyles Farm, Wigglesworth, who also snapped up the Fox’s third prize pen for £106 apiece.
