HE Hyundai Accent’s big hook has always been value for money. A Focus-sized car for Fiesta-sized
strange that these value buyers were not being offered a parsimonious diesel engine. The Accent 1.5TD GSi rectifies this glar ing omission. Better late than never. ^ The engine underlines the Korean com
pany’s growing expertise in diesel technol ogy. A fresh approach brings with it novel engineering solutions and the 83 b.h.p. common-rail three-cylinder turbodiesel is like no other mass produced engine. With a capacity of just 1493cc it does
not promise much in the way of fun behind the wheel, but that would be to ignore the 1361b/ft of torque available at.
