A vacancy has arisen for a part time Taxi Enforcement Officer to investigate breaches of the regulations relating to hackney carriages and private hire vehicles.


Main duties will be to investigate complaints, carry out spot checks, inspect private hire records, issue warnings where appropriate and administer knowledge tests to new hackney carriage/private hire applicants.


The successful candidate will also be required to give evidence in courtin respect of proceedings taken against operators, as and when necessary.


Ideal candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to command authority and a willingness to work unsociable hours. A working knowledge of regulations relating to hackney carriages and private hire would be advantageous.
