Birthday party At the 58th birthday party

her "Life with the Vets". She is a trained pathologist who divides her time working with veterinary surgeons and at a private hospital, where she is in charge of the pathol­ ogy department. The first thing she had to


learn on joining the vet team was the broad dialect of Cumbria. She told of reviv­ ing a kitten with a hair drier and a drop of brandy after it had been found frozen solid in the deep freeze. She also recounted a tale of
