A CHANGE OF P LACE (1994): A shy girl is persuad ed to take her glamorous model sister's place on the Paris catwalks, little suspect ing a life-changing romance is waiting just around the comer. (CHANNELS, 12pm)

RICHIE RICH (1994); Macaulay Culkin is the world’s wealthiest child who attempts to stop a villain getting his hands on the family cash. Edward Herrmann and John Larroquette co-star in this rou tine adaptation of the popular American comic strip. (GRANADA, 3.10pm,)

ROLLERBALL (1975): In a future society, world leaders control the population's blood- lust through games which are a violent mixture of rugby, roller-skating and gladiator- style ferocity. James Caan stars as top player Jonathan E who becomes aware of how he is being manipulated and decides to make a stand against the authorities. (BBC2, 9pm)

CONAN THE BARBARIAN (1982): Arnold Schwarzeneg ger is perfectly cast as the eponymous hero of Robert E Howard's pulp novels. James Earl Jones is fine as the villain of the piece, Thulsa Doom, while Ron Cobb's production design is a feast for the eyes. (GRANADA, 10.35pm)

ANYTHING TO SURVIVE (1990): A father and his brood of three must survive in the icy wastes of Alaska after a holiday trip turns into a disas ter in this gripping adventure drama. Robert Conrad, Matthew LeBlanc, Ocean Heilman and Emily Perkins head the cast. (CHANNEL 5, 10.55pm)

BEDAZZLED (Cert 12, 93 mins) Elliot Richardson (Brendan Fraser) is a geek in technical support who crosses paths with the devilish Elizabeth Hurley, who offers him seven wishes to turn his life around in exchange for his soul. But no matter what he wishes for, the Devil subverts each of his demands with painful conse quences. Finally, the screen play sells its soul for a happy ending which rings dreadfully hollow. PITCH BLACK (Cert 15,107 mins) A starfreighter strays into the path of a meteor shower and crash-lands on a remote and desolate planet orbited by two suns. The captain is killed, but several passengers survive the ordeal to be confronted by an arid and eerily lifeless planet. Worse still, its inhabi tants emerge from their underground lairs: ptero- dactyl-like killing machines. Pitch Black opens well but the finale is rather muddled. Rat ing ★ ★ ★

WONDER BOYS (Cert 15,111 mins) Words used to come so easily to university lecturer Grady Tripp (Michael Douglas). His first novel leapt off the type writer and had the critics reaching for the superlatives. Seven years on, he is still mired in the long awaited fol

THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR (1968); Bored play boy Steve McQueen sets up an elaborate bank heist, but doesn't reckon on the dogged perseverance of insurance investigator Faye Dunaway, who sets out to nab him. Glossy but lightweight crime caper. (GRANADA, 3.50pm) THE THREE LIVES OF THOMASINA (1964): Pretty good live action children's movie from the Disney stu dios. Susan Hampshire and Patrick McGoohan star in this tale of a vet constantly frus trated by a Scottish girl's sim ple healing ways with ani mals. With Wilfred Brambell. (CHANNEL 5, 5.10pm)
