Every household bagged up fairly!

R IB B L E Valley Council is to equalise refuse collection ser vices to all households

in the borough. The council will next

week begun delivering one black, plastic sack to every household in the borough. Following the reorgani

sation of local government in 1974 arid the creation of the borough council, con tra c ts taken over from other local authorities meant that 25% of house holds continued to receive

sacks, but the service was not extended to other households. At a recent meeting of

the council's Policy and Finance Committee, councillors agreed to use savings made on this year's budget to provide the same level of service to all people across the borough. One sack will be deliv

ered each week for collec tion the following week. Normal collection days remain the same.
