to come out of it is to stiff en my resolve to pass my long overdue driving test and help contribute my fair share of petrol exhaust fumes to our sweet Ribble Valley air.
Proud of our ‘crown jewels’
IT seems appropriate that one of the gems in the Ribble Valley crown of towns and villages should boast a magnificent set of its
own "crown jewels." Clitheroe Town Coun cil is the guardian of

YOU have just got to take your hat off to this pair of
little beamers. For Gabriella Charnley
and Cameron Booth (pic tured above) performed a
I sensational hat-trick by I designing these two bril liant bonnets in an Easter competition organised by Langho Playgroup. Replacing their hair as a crowning glory, the pair will both know the origins of the custom of wearing

ning new clothes at Easter, including hats. It is a festi val around which many baptisms of new Chris tians take place, and new items of clothing represent a new beginning - and what better accessory to cut a festive dash in than a spanking new hat? Bonnets would often be
decorated in the three tra ditional Easter colours: yellow, white and green. Yellow is for the colour of the sun, shining through at the beginning of the new season (we live in hope!), green symbolises new growth, while white is for
