JOTICE IS H ER EB Y given that Castle Cement has applied to he Secretary of State for the Environment for a substantial rariation ot the Integrated Pollution Control (|PC) authorisation No A12813) to operate a 3.1 A(A) process at Ribblesdate Works in Clitheroe. Lancashire. The application covers the nstallation of a wet scrubbing system to 'mprove the snvlronmental performance of the cement-making process. It also seeks to alter restrictions on both the sulphur content of petroleum coke and the lead content and cal°nflc value of recycled liquid fuel. The application further indicates an


intention to apply to bum recycled liquid fuel in kiln seven, and other alternative fuels, once the scrubber has been successfully commissioned, and to introduce high c^onde materials to kiln seven to reduce the a kali content ot cement. Information relating to the above appliraUon for a substantial


variation of the authorisation to operate the process is held in
