Willie’s on targei -in DIY business

WILLIE IRVINE is very much on target in the do-it-yourself business just as he was as a Burnley, Footbalj Club striker in the 60s, when he achieved a post-war club record of g

scoring. He is still notching

up scores, but o f . a d i f fe re n t kind, for today he opens his new DIY shop in Can ning S tre e t in p re mises three times, the size of his former one in Clifton Street. It is six years since

Willie turned to business.' A knee injury forced him to hang up his boots and turn to other goals. He started in a partner

OUR CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES TO

W ILLIE IRVINE D.I.Y. LTD

Irishman like Willie to start out in business as he originally did on April 1st, All Fools’ Day, for talking with him is a laugh a minute, though being full of fun doesn t mean that his mind is not on what he’s doing. He uses his Irish charm

to break down defences, and before you know, where you are, you are hooked on Willie’s unique selling line, and he’s good at it, without sacrificing quality.

R e a s o n a b le His new “easier-to-get-

at” place in Canning Street will enable him to expand, and one of his new lines is greenhouses, from lean-to’s to real glass houses. He can spread his wings in the new space, and hopes that his old and loyal customers will follow

for a Tong time.” There was just about

everything one could think of DIY-wise in Clif ton Street, and the new place promises to be better and better. S crew s and n a i ls ,

planks and hardboard, paints and sprays, nuts and bolts will still be there. Paint brushes, files, scrapers, doors, fit tings and fitments, sink units, kitchen units; cup boards for just about every room and every thing, white wood and plain wood. All the old liked and favoured items will be there, but there will be more of them, wider choice, and plenty of space to view the

goods. At Clifton Street, ev
