Herald expands its catering disposables supply with new Northern office
Quality disposables manufacturer and supplier, Herald has opened a second office in Newcastle to provide its Northern staff with a base to work from, while adding to its storage facilities for its expanding product range.
With the majority of its staff based in the South, Herald has concentrated on adding to its office and warehouse space at its Barking headquarters until recently. However, with business growing across the UK and almost a quarter of its staff based in the North, the company has now opened a second office in the North East.
Based in Newcastle, the new office is led by Herald’s national sales manager, David Martin and provides a base for the company’s Northern sales and support staff. Extra space has been taken to allow for expansion and new additions to the team as Herald has seen turnover double in recent years and is focused on driving further growth.
THE WAY FORWARD With a 30-year history of identifying where the value lies for its customers and delivering without sacrificing quality, Herald has secured a

reputation for providing a wide range of choice. In recent months, with catering and events companies forced to make cut backs, Herald has managed to provide options that allow its customers to keep costs down.
David explains: “Our way around rising costs and difficulties accessing products has been to focus on the supply chain. We’re in constant talks with suppliers to review and expand our product offering so that our customers have a full range of goods to choose from at differing price points, without sacrificing quality.
“Having extra storage facilities means that we can hold more, allowing our customers to hold less and to order more regularly. This means that they can use their own space effectively without tying it up with surplus supplies. We hope that the opening of this Northern office signifies to customers, existing and new, that we remain solid and reliable and able to deliver on our promises. We don’t let people down and that’s why we’re able to grow.”
COMING SOON Herald’s next significant appointment reflects the company’s efforts to make inroads further north. A sales executive for Scotland is expected to
be announced in the next few weeks and the sales team is looking forward to forging new relationships in the Scottish market. Much has gone into the planning and the team hope that Herald will make a strong impression north of the border, with competitive pricing and a strong product range.
David comments: “We’ll be going in talking about our potential as a single source solution and will be promoting our eco-offering and the fast turnaround we can provide on all products. We’re looking forward to having an executive in the field, who knows the market and will provide good representation for the Herald brand.”
