Hello and welcome
to the November issue of Venue Insight Magazine, the MUST HAVE publication for the UK hospitality industry.
Once again, it’s time for Slade, Wizzard, The Pogues, Mariah Carey, Michael Bublé and all the others to be wheeled out of storage and fired up for full on festive fun. This time last year we were in the midst of a 2nd national lockdown and we all know what happened at Christmas. It’s looking like a very different picture this time around though and hospitality can look forward to the festive season with hope and a real possibility of repairing some of the damage that has been heaped on the industry for so long.
Another month, another host of new openings and events which is so great to report on. Hospitality is by no means back to firing on all cylinders, far from it, but its resilience is clear to see. Cogo and Kiss Nights have announced the Tobacco Dock NYE festival, Ministry of Sound bring the biggest party on the south coast to Bexhill in Sussex at the end of November, INCA – a lively immersive dining hub arrives in Mayfair, award-winning plant-based restaurant Stem & Glory has secured a third site at 100 Liverpool Street, Broadgate and The Big Table Group, operator of Las Iguanas, Bella Italia and Cafe Rouge, is planning to open 50 new restaurants

and create 1,250 jobs, fuelled in particular by demand for the Las Iguanas brand.
In our first interview with Guy Lawrence, since he became Chief Executive of Brockmans Gin, we discuss the state of the hospitality sector, his brand, and his favourite cocktail, which for the record is a classic Negroni, as featured on our cracking front cover. In the run-up to the festive season, ‘The Properly Improper Gin’ serve up a romantically smoky cocktail as seen on page 24. The Smoky Rosy has notes of orange to complement the bitter-sweet orange notes which are naturally present in this distinctively different gin.
PPLPRS – home of TheMusicLicence offer some sound advice on how to create the perfect atmosphere for your customers. Often, the right environment can be just as important as the services or products it offers. Perhaps you want your customers to enjoy some soothing, seasonal sounds as they relax during long winter nights. Maybe you want to create the upbeat, party feeling on the weekends with some fresh Christmas hits alongside the latest releases. Whatever the occasion, the right music can help to set the tone and help to enhance the overall experience for your customers.
Good luck heading into the new season.
