PANTO BOUGHT FESTIVE CHEER TO CHILDREN’S WARD

The cast of Dick Whittington made a festive visit to the Children’s Ward at Hereford County Hospital last month.

Whilst talking to the young patients, the cast gave out goodies as a pre-Christmas treat. The visit was part of The Courtyard’s commitment to working in the community and brought a snippet of the pantomime to the children who were not able to see it at The Courtyard. The cast received a tour of the ward, visited the children’s A&E, and even got to design their very own ceiling tile.

Robyn Barratt, Marketing and Audience Development Manager at The Courtyard said: “The panto cast visit to the hospital really is very special to us. This was the first time we have been able to return since Covid, after years of annual visits, and it was wonderful to see the children’s faces light up with excitement at a time when they are not feeling 100%.”

Dion Davies, who played Dame Penny Drops, said, “Visiting the hospital was one of the highlights of the panto. Being able to sing, laugh and smile with some of the poorly children, and in fact the nurses of County Hospital was utterly magical. It was so rewarding being able to bring a little bit of silliness, enjoyment, and Christmas cheer to the children!”
