Roadmap To Sustainability: The Framework For Your Sustainability Strategy
The CHSA’s Roadmap to Sustainability is designed to help members move in the right direction, whatever their starting position. It offers value by: • Informing and educating members on the sustainability agenda and associated issues; • Providing members with a strategic way forward for developing their approach to sustainability; and • Helping the membership align on sustainability and so drive the industry forward.
Fact Sheet: Five Pillars For Sustainability
Our Roadmap to Sustainability identifies Five Pillars to sustainability in our sector. They are:
Product
As it is received, used and disposed of by the end user. Packaging
All the packaging of a product, throughout the supply chain. Transportation
Encompassing the movement of raw materials and delivery of the product to the end user.
Social Values
Including mental wellbeing, personal development, community involvement and the overall ethical approach of the business. The ethical approach of the business includes sourcing from ethically and environmentally sustainable suppliers.
Environmental Impact
Corporate environmental impact covering waste, emissions and water
Fact Sheet: Plastic Packaging Tax
Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT) came into effect on 1st April 2022. Our Fact Sheet provides a brief overview of PPT. It will help you decide if the tax applies to you and, if it does, how to respond. If PPT does not, it will help you understand your wider responsibility and the records you are advised to keep.
Roadmap to Sustainability: The Directory
Our Directory has been compiled by sustainability experts from within our membership. It brings together contacts you will find useful for developing and implementing your sustainability strategy.
Roadmap To Sustainability: The Glossary The language of sustainability can be confusing. The Glossary defines the common terms including biodegradeability, compostability, a circular economy and closed loop.
Fact Sheet: Scope 1, 2 And 3
On the road to net zero, many organisations are trying to understand their
emissions. The Greenhouse Gas Protocol
categorises a business’s emissions into Scope 1, 2 and 3, based on the different aspects of the business.
Fact Sheet: Zero Waste To Landfill
To achieve Zero Waste to Landfill certification the organisation has proved no waste is sent to landfill. All waste is reused, recycled, recovered, reprocessed or disposed of in an alternative way. A variety of organisations can help you achieve zero waste to landfill certification. We have worked with one, Valpak, to develop this Fact Sheet.
Fact Sheet: Your Questions Answered
Earlier this year we hosted a webinar – ‘Sustainability and the Cleaning Industry’. A panel of industry experts
from within
our industry then answered members’ questions. The panel comprised: Amy Carter of Kimberly-Clark Professional, Vikki Morris of Evans Vanodine, Tony Nawar of Berry BPI, and Renee Remijnse of Essity Professional Hygiene.
