DESIGNS TO INSPIRE
Get the look from this issue’s stand-out projects – from a New York hotel bar filled with eclectic finds to an elegant Mayfair drawing room
THE BEDROOM Cognac house Maison Courvoisier has had a meticulous restoration by French design studio
Gilles & Boissier. Celebrating nearly 200 years of history and craftsmanship, the designers commissioned distinctive pieces made by artisans using elemental materials. To get the look, keep the palette subdued and add contemporary touches. In the bedroom, Julian Chichester’s ‘Rita’ four-poster bed in cane is complemented by the sharp frame of Loom’s ‘Priory’ side table and Stark Carpet’s geometric ‘Moya’ rug in frost. The scheme is softened by a woodland-inspired ‘Tall Trees’ panel by GP & J Baker and Paolo Moschino Ltd’s ‘Aragon’ table lamp handcrafted in plaster.
THE BAR The Warren Street hotel in New York’s downtown TriBeCa feels more like an art
gallery than a hotel. To get Kit Kemp’s distinctive blend of colour, pattern and whimsy mix Casamance’s ‘Modernismo’ wallcovering, Pierre Frey’s tangerine ‘Paradou’ fabric and ‘Wolterton Verdure’, a tableau scenique by Watts 1874, with artisan pots from Eccotrading Design London and a ‘Robin’ ceiling light from Porta Romana. The glazed ‘Bartoli’ lamp by Arteriors and Paolo Moschino Ltd's ‘Sarah’ table add a sculptural dimension.
