THE SITTING ROOM For a Mayfair pied-à-terre renovation, interior designers Salvesen Graham balanced


English elegance with a transatlantic edge. To get the sophisticated look in the sitting room, envelop the walls in Phillip Jeffries’ ‘Abaca Royale’ grasscloth. Key seating includes George Smith’s comfortable ‘Minster’ chair and a ‘Gilt Bamboo’ cross stool from Paolo Moschino Ltd. Rich, layered textures are introduced through ‘Hector’, a wool herringbone from Sanderson, and ‘Clarence’, a soft diamond trellis by George Spencer Designs. Finishing touches include a brass ‘Lotus Leaf’ table lamp from Vaughan and ‘Peonies & Petals’, an abstract canvas from Quote & Curate, creating a space that feels both luxurious and welcoming.

To reflect the building’s 19th- century grandeur, art nouveau elegance and 1950s retro charm, get the look with a striking ‘Toledo’ ceiling light from Vaughan. On the floor, Ca’ Pietra’s ‘Byzantine Porcelain Lauro’ tiles blend ancient Greek mosaics with a modern aesthetic. Porada’s elegant ‘Sveva’ bar stools, upholstered in Altfield’s ‘Wellington’ aniline leather in Adriatic blue, offer sophisticated seating. On the bar counter, made with Ca’ Pietra’s ‘Butler Porcelain Marquina’ marble effect tiles, a cocktail, served in a topaz ‘Cubism’ glass tumbler from Moser (available from Source at Personal Shopping), is waiting.
