Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour is at heart of the design community. Discover why it is the vital engine for creativity and business, driving global connections through its world-class events and unique ecosystem

Centre, Chelsea Harbour. With a mix of 135 luxury flagships, independent companies and ateliers, it is no surprise that the renowned design hub has grown by 50% in less than a decade. The demand for prime showroom space is driven

“A

by a straightforward objective: enhancing market presence. The Design Centre puts brands in front of an audience of designers, architects and specifiers sourcing for worldwide residential and commercial projects. Heathfield & Co has been 40 years in the lighting business – but it has taken until now to open a dedicated showroom, because it was holding out for the perfect home. “It’s been a fantastic first year,” says head of brand and marketing, Lily Watson. “It has put us right in the heart of the design community. Designers drop by, and we can host everything from breakfast briefings

and panels to hands-on lampshade

workshops. It’s a great way to connect on a deeper level than just showing products. There’s a real sense of strength in numbers and a wonderfully supportive environment.” Newcomer Designmixer, an Istanbul-born bespoke wallcovering firm, sees opening a showroom in Design Centre East as a roadmap milestone. Founder Tijen Samuray explains: “It’s an opportunity to foster long-term collaborations and elevate the brand to a much higher level within an international context.”

ll the amazing designers want to be here,” commented interior designer Toni Black, founder of House of Black, at a recent event at Design

A common misconception is that the Design

Centre is ‘just a building with showrooms’, but the truth is that it is doing so much more to champion creativity, entrepreneurship and business. “Beyond the standard support of traditional landlords, we go the extra mile,” says the Design Centre’s CEO Claire German. “We understand the importance of a curated ecosystem, and we actively invest in the success of our showrooms through extensive branding, marketing and high-profile events that generate media attention and foster business growth.”

Building connections is one of the Design Centre’s

strengths, which is why in 2026 it welcomed more than 350 designers from the US as part of Design Destination London: they came to discover, learn, network and meet the experts behind some great British brands, all in the name of strengthening transatlantic ties. Hector Finch is represented in 14 major US cites, but according to Emma Finch, having a showroom at the Design Centre has given them access to a wider US audience. This year, she has met some new voices among the Design Destination London attendees. The superyacht industry came

“WE UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF A

CURATED ECOSYSTEM, AND WE ACTIVELY INVEST IN THE SUCCESS OF OUR SHOWROOMS THROUGH BRANDING, MARKETING AND HIGH-PROFILE EVENTS”

A calendar of events provides invaluable ways

to meet the thousands of visitors who pass through the doors. As Talib Choudhry, editor of House & Garden, put it, “this year, London Design Week is bigger than ever.” Over five action-packed days, 143 events saw people flocking to see the latest collections and sharpen their professional edge at Access All Areas showroom sessions, and Conversations in Design and Grow Your Business talks. The excitement generated by the opening of the new Design Emporium Collective gave further reasons for visitors from 51 countries to come, while extensive coverage delivered a reach of over 15m across print, digital and social.

together when original sketches, scale models and five decades of design thinking were shown in a recent landmark exhibition to honour Terence Disdale. “The Design Centre was chosen for its management’s consistent warm attitude towards us and its first-

class reputation,” said Disdale, who has shaped some of the most iconic yachts of the modern era. While London Design Week and Focus establish

the seasonal agenda, the Design Centre’s award- winning showhouse, WOW!house, serves as a significant catalyst for industry momentum. This growth continues with more strategic redevelopment of the Fifth Floor of Design Centre East. Driven by a commitment to excellence, the Design Centre provides a platform that inspires visitors and fosters business growth. As Marcus Gärtner, CSO of Zimmer + Rohde, noted about the showroom’s recent upgrade: “Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour is the place to be”.
