On every floor, showrooms have remodelled
to better serve the needs of professional designers. Turnell & Gigon has adapted its Centre Dome showroom to reflect a resurgent interest in signature archive florals. “It felt natural to create a dedicated space that showcases Jean Monro. Giving it greater prominence enhances the way clients can engage with it,” says design director Jo Tailby-Stoute. On the Third Floor, Gladee Lighting now has the feel of a sleek superyacht on dry land. It’s no coincidence – Gladee’s sparkling lighting is a favourite of yacht designers. Over in Design Centre North, Visual Comfort & Co. has considered every detail of the lighting selection process with an upgrade, while its architectural lighting labs let you experience options for layered light. International expansion is often seen as a
strategic move to meet growing demand across residential, hospitality and large-scale architectural projects. French passementerie house Houlès has just marked a decade here, choosing the Design Centre for its first standalone UK showroom. design capitals in India, the Middle East, Europe and the US. The airy space explores scale, texture and restraint, showcasing rugs as architectural elements, rather than decorative afterthoughts. In a digital era, physical spaces remain essential
for luxury brands. Pierre Frey has reimagined a cosy, studio-style space for Thorp of London, fostering, as Amandine Dufour notes, “human dialogue and creative exchange”. Recent arrival George Smith needed a showroom large enough to accommodate its extensive range of handmade British luxury furniture. The new space on the Fifth Floor of Design Centre East allows clients to experience first hand the exceptional comfort, quality and bespoke potential of its handcrafted sofas and chairs. Convening power and a dynamic vision for
the future means the Design Centre is constantly evolving and building on its leadership position. Bernie de Le Cuona, who successfully expanded into an adjacent showroom in the North Dome, sums it up perfectly: “Being involved in many design centres around the world, I can honestly say that Chelsea Harbour is leading the way in what interior designers want.”
