Hotel Indigo Leeds opened its doors this summer, bringing a blend of local culture, history and modern luxury to the heart of the city. With a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant,
new hotel promises to stay true to the local area, with GM Simon Grace and Keval Thakerar, director of Belfont Hotels, Hotel Indigo Leeds’ owners.

his summer, Leeds welcomed a new addition to its hospitality scene with the opening of 107-bedroom Hotel Indigo Leeds. Situated on Lower Briggate, the hotel offers convenient access to the Yorkshire city’s train station and the bustling city centre, including the popular Leeds Trinity shopping area. This development, backed by a multi-million- pound investment, is looking to bring a fresh and stylish experience to both locals and visitors. Hotel Indigo Leeds will feature more than comfortable accommodations; it will also introduce The Banksia, a Mediterranean-inspired bar and restaurant located on the hotel’s ground floor. The Banksia aims to celebrate the diverse cultural tapestry of modern Leeds with a menu that highlights fresh, local ingredients. The hotel itself is designed to reflect the rich industrial heritage of Leeds, with each room telling

a unique story through designs and artwork. The hotel is also committed to sustainability, aligning with IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Journey to Tomorrow initiative, which focuses on responsible travel and environmental stewardship.
As the 20th Hotel Indigo to open in the UK, the hope is that this new location will make a significant impact on the local economy by creating more than 60 jobs. The development has been a collaborative effort, with local designers and contractors playing a crucial role in ensuring the hotel embodies the spirit of Leeds while maintaining the high standards associated with the Hotel Indigo brand.
