Pierre Tabbagh: Evertree was founded in 2016 with a clear mission: to replace petrochemical adhesives in wood-based panels with bio-based alternatives derived from renewable resources. Our technology uses rapeseed and sunflower derivatives sourced locally through the Avril Group, ensuring both sustainability and traceability. Today, Evertree operates as a pioneer in plant-based chemistry, holding more than 26 patent families and collaborating with leading European manufacturers. Our flagship innovation is a range of bio-resins that deliver high mechanical performance while eliminating harmful substances like formaldehyde and isocyanates. These solutions significantly reduce carbon footprint and improve indoor air quality, aligning with global decarbonization goals.

PRODUCTS LIKE EVERTREE’S? Pierre Tabbagh: Petrol-based resins have long dominated panel manufacturing, but the shift toward sustainable materials is accelerating. Bio-resins like Evertree’s are no longer niche; they are becoming essential. In the medium term, we expect surface-layer adhesive substitution, offering manufacturers flexibility and significant carbon footprint reduction. In the long term, plant-based adhesives will become mainstream, driven by regulatory pressure, ESG commitments, and consumer demand for healthier living spaces. The benefits are clear: reduced VOC emissions, improved worker safety, and a significant carbon footprint reduction. Our bio-resins deliver these advantages while matching the productivity and cost-effectiveness of fossil- based alternatives.
WBPI: REGULATION ON FORMALDEHYDE EMISSIONS HAVE TIGHTENED OVER RECENT YEARS. DO YOU EXPECT REGULATION TO CONTINUE TIGHTENING? Pierre Tabbagh: Regulation on formaldehyde emissions has tightened significantly in recent years, and this
trend will continue. Initiatives such as the European Green Deal and the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) prioritize low-emission materials for furniture and construction. Evertree actively supports these efforts, providing solutions that meet future standards today. Manufacturers adopting bio-based adhesives position themselves ahead of regulatory curves, ensuring compliance and competitive advantage in a market increasingly shaped by sustainability requirements.
