NEW CRANE SYSTEMS FOR ABNORMAL TRANSPORT AIM TO INCREASE FLEXIBILITY
A new Dutch engineering venture, Niconlift, has been launched to deliver integrated crane systems designed to enable abnormal and heavy transport operators to load, unload, and reposition cargo directly from trailers – reducing dependence on external lifting equipment and increasing operational fl exibility. Established as a sister company to Aerolift Industrials and
Machinefabriek H. Zwienenberg (MHZ), Niconlift says it combines engineering design capability, manufacturing capacity and decades of fi eld experience in sideloader and transport lifting systems. At the core of the venture is the expertise of Nico de Jong, who has spent more than 30 years working in container sideloader systems. Since 2007, his company Beltruck has produced and supplied a limited number of sideloaders globally under the Niconlift brand, forming the practical foundation for the new product line. By integrating this operational experience with Aerolift’s engineering know-how in lifting solutions of up to 200 tonnes – used across sectors including precast concrete, steel fabrication, paper and wind energy – and MHZ’s in-house production capabilities, the companies believe they have created a unifi ed platform for the next generation of mobile crane systems. Niconlift’s product portfolio currently centres on two core systems: The Niconlift Lowbed Lifter is a removable sideloader unit designed
for installation on existing or new semi low-loaders or SPMTs. It is offered in lifting capacities of 45 tonnes, 70 tonnes and 120 tonnes. The Niconlift Allround Lifter integrates the same crane
confi guration into a fi xed 13.6-metre chassis. The system is extendable and designed for a 45-tonne lifting capacity. Both systems are aimed at enabling a wider range of applications
in the heavy transport sector, including the handling of pad-mounted transformers, cable reels and other industrial cargo. The equipment is designed to operate in constrained environments and supports tasks such as ground-level positioning, loading onto trailers or SPMTs, stacking operations, and basement or below-ground placement. Manufacturing of all Niconlift systems is carried out entirely at
MHZ’s production facility, where machining, structural fabrication, hydraulics, electrical engineering and fi nal assembly are integrated under one roof. According to the company, this consolidated approach allows for tighter coordination between design, production and ongoing development.
