terminal operators, port authorities, the Pacific Maritime Association, intermodal equipment providers, and equipment manufacturers to offer comprehensive maintenance and repair services for all types of shore-based cargo handling, containers, and transport refrigeration equipment. The operation involved the offloading
of two cranes at Long Beach Container Terminal and one at Everport Terminal Services. The cranes, manufactured by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co. (ZPMC), were loaded onto Liberia-flagged Zhen Hua 36 heavy lift vessel, which arrived at the Port of Long Beach in January 2024. The offloading of ship-to-shore
cranes is no ordinary task; it demands careful consideration of factors such as weight distribution, crane stability, and environmental conditions as well as safety protocols and rigorous planning throughout the operation to ensure its successful completion. The process involves intricate coordination among various stakeholders,

including port authorities, terminal operators, and stevedores. The operation was carried out in
coordination with the company’s sister stevedoring company, Pacific Terminal Services Company and ZPMC. Long Beach Container Terminal has
three berths at the Port of Long Beach featuring 4200 feet of wharf line and the deepest dredged dockside of any US Pacific Coast port. LBCT runs 18 ship-to- shore cranes, six intermodal rail cranes, 69 yard gantry cranes – all electrified – and
102 autonomous battery powered transport vehicles. The terminal’s investment in green technologies has resulted in an 86% reduction in greenhouse gas and criteria pollutant emissions to date, while quadrupling LBCT’s cargo-handling capacity. Everport Terminal Services, a subsidiary
of Ports America and Evergreen Marine Corp. owns and operates two container terminals in California. Shipping lines using the terminal include Evergreen, APL, COSCO Shipping, OOCL and CMA CGM.
