event areas, private offices, creative spaces, retail outlets, and a café. The centerpiece of this transformation will be the gymnasium itself, where the company is implementing a comprehensive rigging system. The project includes the installation of
seven structural truss runs to support 18 Kito Crosby Krewmate chain hoists. These hoists will manage four main lighting truss runs, which can be reconfigured into a boxing ring enclosure when needed. Additionally, six antique chandeliers, salvaged from a historic castle, will be suspended to add a touch of elegance to the venue. Electric chain hoists are a key component of the installation. They will
be used to raise and lower the lighting trusses, main audio hangs, and the ornate chandeliers. Compared to alternatives such as manual hoists or hydraulics, electric chain hoists are compact, efficient, and an industry standard for stage productions, making them the ideal choice for this application.

The installation is being conducted in phases. The first phase, focusing on rigging components like structural truss and hoists, was scheduled for completion by the third week of August. Following this, audio, video, and lighting systems will be integrated over the coming months. In the interim, a temporary AV setup will allow the venue to host events. “One of the challenges faced was the insufficient load capacity of the existing roof and beams. To address this, the team added permanent truss runs extending from wall to wall, thereby providing the necessary rigging capacity for a full-scale venue,” said Ferguson.
