PATIENT STORIES CAPTURED IN THE LIVING WELL ‘STAY WELL THIS WINTER’ EVALUATION
The Living Well ‘Stay well this winter’ campaign which ran throughout December 2024 and January 2025 aimed to help the public prepare for the winter months by encouraging them to take actions to protect their health.
On completion of the campaign, the evaluation surveys submitted by local contractors included several patient testimonies which illustrates the positive and long-lasting impact that community pharmacy teams have on the health and well- being of the local community.

PHARMACY FIRST SERVICES EXTENDED
The Pharmacy First Service for Sore Throat and the Treatment of Shingles have been extended until 31st August 2025.
The extension of both services allows community pharmacists to use their clinical skills whilst improving patient access to advice and treatment, without the need to contact their GP practice or other parts of the healthcare service, particularly Emergency Departments and Out-Of-Hours services (OOHs).
Promotion of the services • Pharmacies may wish to let local GP practices know of the continued availability of the services and encourage them to refer suitable patients to the pharmacy.
• Pharmacies may also wish to promote the service on social media using the resources available on the BSO website.
• Service posters have been provided and should be displayed in the pharmacy.
