Every day police officers up and down the country display outstanding commitment and dedication to saving lives and upholding the law while on or off duty. The Police Federation of England and Wales honours the winners of the Bravery Awards 2023 with great pride. This year’s overall winners are a team of 14 officers who broke through ice on a frozen lake in an attempt to save four children


The 28th Police Bravery Awards were held on 13 July 2023 to celebrate the valiant amongst all the 43 forces in England and Wales. This year, a total of 90 nominations from 36 forces were honoured at the annual ceremony. These awards would not be possible without the support of Police Mutual, who have sponsored the Police Bravery Awards for more than 10 years.
