Continuing, she said: “The benefits of working for Think Pink mean I can be my own boss, I don’t have to worry about getting people to cover for me if I’m off sick or flitting around for childcare... I enjoy that flexibility. I can work around children, school holidays, things like that.”


As Baljit, another one of our Think Pink drivers explains, flexi- bility is a key driver for the role. She said: “I can choose my working hours, which means I can spend more time with my children and still earn money to manage my household bills.


“From the bottom of my heart I am very happy to be part of the lovely Think Pink team who have helped me start a new job as a private hire driver.”


Another driver, Sapheena, add- ed: “I have re- turned to work after 28 years and now I have achieved 3,384 drives!”


Amidst the general shortage of taxi drivers exacerbated by the pandemic, Mary Storrie highlighted the success of training new drivers, with a focus on expanding geographically to meet the growing demand.


“We have initially partnered with DG cars, based in my hometown, which has the largest fleet of drivers in the East Midlands. Now, we’re at the stage of seeking new additional Fleet Partners to expand Think Pink geographically” she said.


“We help recruits who match the criteria to attain their private hire licence and offer full mentoring, support, and driver benefits to self-employed individuals through Think Pink.”

Over 85% of Think Pink drivers opt to work full-time, while others choose part-time work to accom- modate their responsibilities. We’re delighted to announce that several of our drivers rank within the top 5% - 10% of the 1,500 drivers in the DG Cars fleet.


Our drivers consistently receive high star ratings from passengers, who frequently express their apprec- iation including personal thank you cards. Many passengers specifically request Think Pink drivers by name, attesting to the outstanding service they consistently deliver.


Dr Mike Galvin, part of the Think Pink pro-bono Leadership Team, comments: “Think Pink’s unique approach to empowering women and supporting them through the licensing process and early days of driving is showing real benefits – more drivers, a new service, PR opportunities and a chance for the industry to support a worthwhile charity, the Rosie May Foundation. Opportunities to


increase


revenue, do good and add a new dimension to existing services don’t come very often - this is one to grab with both hands.”
