Two robbers, Christina Youll, 46, and Joanne Baillie, 42, showed no mercy as they

ignored a

frightened shopkeeper’s pleas not to rob the shop he worked in. Hours later, one of them held a knife to a cabbie’s throat, as the other punched him in the face and emptied his pockets. On 15 April, the two women appeared at Teesside Crown Court to be sentenced. Baillie was also charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker. The court heard that in February, Baillie teamed up with pal Christina Youll to carry out two robberies, whilst they were high on class A drugs. A Police Community Support Officer in Surrey has pleaded guilty to assaulting a cabbie. PCSO Danielle Carter, 39, pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Staines Magistrates’ Court on 28 March. The officer, who was off duty at the time of the incident, was out in Redhill in May 2023 when police received a call from a taxi driver just after midnight. The driver reported a concern for Carter’s safety after he drove her to an address in Grantwood Close. The driver also alleged that Carter had assaulted him and damaged the inside of his taxi.

She was arrested and sub- sequently charged with assault by beating and criminal damage. She was ordered to pay a £1,050 fine following her guilty plea for the assault. The court decided not to pursue a separate conviction for the criminal damage. Head of Surrey Police’s Pro- fessional Standards, Super- intendent Andy Rundle, said: “Now the court case has concluded, we will be taking disciplinary action against Carter which will determine whether she has breached the policing standards of professional behaviour.”

Hemlington. But when the women asked the driver to let them out further up the street, he became suspicious and refused. “Youll leaned forward, held a kitchen knife to his throat, ordering him ‘to give me all your money’.” The court heard that the driver told her to take all she wanted, and pleaded with her not to hurt him, as he had a family. Baillie punched the driver repeatedly to his face, before taking his iPhone, car keys and cash from his pockets.

Ms Lamballe said that the man’s phone and keys were later found in a bush. The taxi driver said he was “physically sick” with fear. The two were arrested hours later. but Baillie told officers: “You’re not f****** taking me like” before biting one officer on the hand.
