OF OUR INDUSTRY

“It was clear that we had a shared passion with many, so thought we would merge our ideas together for the greater good! That’s when we brainstormed the idea for our ‘Females in the Fleet’ webinar, which is going to celebrate women working in the fleet, discuss key research studies about the current gender split and discover how the industry can make it a more attractive place for women to work.

“When reading online forums, it’s clear that many are asking why. With flexibility being a key feature of the taxi driving role, many believe it is a style of work that suits women, in that they are able to ‘be their own boss’ and fit work around family life. However, the key reason that is reported is safety concerns, with stories of negative experiences such as conflict and sexual harassment preventing women from entering the fleets.

“We believe that placing more focus on increasing the intake of women could be the answer to the industry’s current problem of a shortage of drivers and that the industry should take note.”

How can Collective Benefits help with this?

“Collective Benefits is passionate about supporting our partners by not just providing insurance, wellness and rewards, but also to provide educational content to members.

We have a dedicated member team that provides educational and entertainment content to members to keep them well informed about key topics. We are looking forward to placing more focus on producing content that discusses female safety and raising the awareness of how women in the industry are feeling. With women’s safety gaining media attention in the wider part of society in the past year, this is something that can and should be continued into the fleets.

“Additionally, Collective Benefits has a full product roadmap that always considers worker protection and safety. With worker wellbeing at the forefront of every product we make and decisions we take, we are sure that this will have a positive impact on many industries.”

genuine desire to make the world a better place and also promotes women at work. Led by Kimberly Hurd, Collective Benefits’ CRO, we are all supporting our female colleagues to be the best version of themselves and I’d love to extend our internal mantra to help the industries we serve. I’m loving my new role, and delighted I can be a part of missions such as promoting ‘Females in the Fleets’ and look forward to working with companies such as PHTM and AAA Taxis and Wellman Cars to drive tangible good for females in the fleets and beyond.”

“I would love it if women in all the industries we work with feel the same as I do and so I’m really excited to be promoting equality through this webinar and beyond.”

WHAT CAN THE INDUSTRY DO IN THE FUTURE?

At the webinar an announcement of a new pledge ‘Females in the Fleet Charter’ led by AAA Taxis, that the industry can adopt to make more attractive propositions for women in the industry, will be detailed.

Collective Benefits is also looking to encourage support to increase the training of both men and women in the industry and create network support groups on social media to discuss such issues.
