TO TACKLE GROWTH IN LOCATION-TECH POINT OF SALE...POINT OF SALE
POSTTAG MAKES PRECISION HIRES
PostTag’s location-precision tech- nology is moving into the fast-lane with two senior appointments:
Darren Ward (ex Gett and iGo) and Jez Walker (ex GBG and Data8).
Paul Yewman CEO said: “This is really exciting for us - as PostTag continues its rapid growth it’s important we attract top talent to maintain that momentum. With Darren and Jez coming on board, this is like putting extra fuel in the rocket”
With a national shortage of drivers and increased pressure to deliver more each shift, the need for location precision grows every day. Paul added “We’re now processing over 5 million address lookups and precise locations every day - making a very big contribution to helping our clients reduce their carbon emissions by cutting down the miles they drive each day”
PostTag has more appointments to announce in the coming weeks.
Darren Ward - Partner Manager
Darren has worked in mobility start-ups including Gett, Wheely and iGo (an Uber company) for over 15 years. He has now moved from start-up to scale-up at PostTag as Partner Manager.
Darren’s experienced with the full business cycle in mobility- tech so is equally happy talking to end users about their experience as he is with key stakeholders about how they can reduce their carbon emissions by reducing the miles they drive each day.
Jeremy (Jez) Walker - Direct Sales Manager
With over ten years’ experience in address management solutions at both Data8 and GBG, Jez is excited to share his knowledge and experience of the industry.
Jez holds an MSc in Computer Science so is equally happy talking to technical teams about integration as he is with business owners about how they can improve final mile deliveries while reducing carbon emissions.

TOILETS FOR CABBIES ARE A ‘BASIC HUMAN RIGHT’ - GMB CONGRESS HEARS
Toilets for cabbies, courier and road transport workers are a ‘basic human right’ GMB congress has heard. The union’s annual congress, which recently took place in Brighton, was told a lack of public toilets left drivers forced to ‘go’ anywhere, sometimes leading to prosecution and job losses, or urinating in a bottle. On 5 June, GMB delegates called for local authorities to reopen the thousands of public toilets closed to save money. Mike Tinnion, GMB London Region Delegate said: “This is a health and safety issue for professional drivers. Can you imagine being stuck
70
behind the wheel and needing the toilet knowing there isn’t one you can use? If you risk not using a proper facility you can face prosecution and can lose your job.
It’s degrading and
embarrassing. “I have heard of some real horror stories about what drivers are forced to do when they cannot find a toilet
to use, and it’s worse for women. It’s scandalous and a problem that has been ignored for too long. “Access to sanitation is basic human right. Reopening thousands of closed public toilets for all road users must happen as soon as possible.”
