TRAGIC DEATH OF PH DRIVER TRIBUTES PAID TO BRADFORD CABBIE
WHO DIED IN HORROR CRASH NEAR HARROGATE
Tributes have been paid to a Bradford cabbie who died when his PHV and a car collided near Harrogate on Sunday 18 June. News of the death of Masum Miah, 45, of Shipley, a student consultant and Amber Cars Leeds, driver, was announced on Muslim funeral page Janaza Announcements. Tributes have been pouring in on Janaza’s Facebook page following the crash which happened at 1.20am on the A61 Harrogate Road at Dunkeswick near Harewood Bridge involving a grey BMW and a black Peugeot PHV. “He was a great guy, pleasant to talk to,” said one person on Janaza. “May Allah grant him Jannah and give the family patience in this difficult time.”
“RIP so sad to know this,” said another. “Masum was a very good man. My sincere con- dolences to his family.” North Yorkshire Police is contin- uing to appeal to anyone who may have seen the collision, or who may have any dashcam footage, to come forward. A spokesperson said: “Sadly, the driver of the taxi died at the scene. The driver of the BMW, a man in his 20s was taken to hospital.”
Masum Miah’s family have shared their heartbreak and Masum’s wife, Ambia, shared a tribute to her
“most wonderful husband”. She said: “With a broken heart I will have to say Allah Hafiz (goodbye) to you. I can’t ever accept the hard reality of losing you in this tragic, sudden crash. I can’t promise you I'll be okay, but I promise I will bring our kids up the way we planned. “You’ll always be missed because of the way you were humble, funny, loving, caring, and most of all a wonderful husband and father. For sure it is God who created us and to him we shall return. “You have gone, but will NEVER be forgotten. May you rest in peace and our next meeting will be in Jannah.
