AKE ME GROUP, ALBATROSS CARS AND ADDISON LEE WERE the big winners at the 2023 Professional Driver QSi Awards, held last month at the Brighton Metropole Hotel. The three companies each bagged two Gold awards at the private hire, taxi and chauffeur industry’s only national awards. Take Me won Gold in the Private Hire Group and Marketing categories, in recognition of the way the company has rapidly built a national brand through acquiring local taxi businesses up and down the country. Addison Lee took Golod in the environment category thanks to its massive efforts towards electrifying its fl eet, while the company’s acquisition of black cab business Comcab earned it the Business Diversifi cation award.
Derby-based Albatross Cars secured a double Gold too, winning the Community category and the Private Hire Operator (81+ cars) class thanks to its intense local focus on both its customers and
its drivers. The Private Hire operator (1-80 cars) class was won by innovative Camberley-based operator Your Local Car. In the chauffeur sector, there were wins for Belgraves of London in the 11+ cars category, while StarPrime Chauffeurs, which only started operations in 2020, took the 1-10 cars division. There was also a special award for London-based GLH, which became the only company to have won a QSi Award every year since the fi rst QSi event in 2013. Professional Driver Editor Mark Bursa said: “The QSi Awards are the benchmark for quality in the industry. This year QSi Awards celebrated their 10th Birthday. Since 2013 we have awarded more than 300 QSi Awards, and this year we presented our 100th Gold Award. The quality and number of the entries grows every year, and this year it was an especially tough job to pick our winners – but we know those who came away with a trophy are the best of the best.”
