CHARITY CORNER NOTTINGHAM TAXI FIRM CELEBRATES ROSIE MAY DAY, SUPPORTING LOCAL CHARITY
Nottingham taxi firm DG Cars hosted a special event recently to raise awareness for the Rosie May Foundation, a charity dedicated to providing safe and nurturing environments for children world- wide. The event, held at DG Cars’ central Nottingham HQ, marked what would have been Rosie May Storrie’s 31st birthday. Rosie May tragically passed away in 2003, inspiring her parents, Graham and Mary Storrie, to establish the foundation in her memory. The Rosie May Foundation, based in Nottingham, offers support to families in crisis through education and empowerment programmes, both locally and internationally. One such
programme, Think Pink, aims to attract more women to taxi and private hire vehicle driving careers. Over 50 guests attended the Rosie May Day event, which celebrated the Think Pink initiative. Mary
Storrie, founder of the foundation, expressed her gratitude to DG Cars for their support, highlighting the importance of partnerships in inspiring girls and women to pursue careers in the taxi industry. James Knox, integrator at DG Cars, commented on the long-standing partnership with the Rosie May Foundation and Think Pink. He shared his admiration for their dedication to rebuilding lives in both local and global communities. For more information about the Rosie May Foundation, please visit:

The initiative began when a Ukrainian woman expressed interest in buying an old taxi advertised by the firm. Moved by her story, owner Marek Pawilcz decided to donate the vehicle instead and appealed for community support. Within a week, the taxi office was overflowing with donations from
