Over 600 metal recyclers have chosen AMCS Platform for metal recycling. One of these companies is the Germany-based Karle Recycling.

Karle Recycling is a medium sized disposal group with 200 employees. In the parent company Karle Recycling deals with complete waste disposal services, but mostly scrap metal.

Karle Recycling relies on license plate recognition on its weighbridge, which enables complete weighing within seconds. “We invest in license plate recognition cameras and in scanners for ID cards,” explained Stefan Karle, CEO of Karle Recycling. “We connect our video systems to the system. We use mobile grading - the versatility of it in our day to day tasks is really well presented in this solution. And if the functionality does not exist yet, we develop it together with AMCS.”

Another company using AMCS Platform for metal recycling is Kaatsch Recycling.

The Kaatsch Group has six operational recycling companies, 200 employees and an annual turnover of around 160 million euros. The interesting aspect of this - and of which they are very proud: they save

1.1 million tons of CO2 per year with what they do every day.

“We used to have everything in analog format in order books where it was stated which customer gets what price for which material on which day. There was a similar book for route planning and for logistics. Everything was communicated

one-to-one, to customers, to suppliers and to drivers. Of course, this would be unthinkable today,” said Ralph Wager, CEO of Kaatsch Recycling.

“Today, digitisation simply means being fast, to the point, having information where it is needed and managing it optimally within the best possible processes. And we can do that today for the benefit of our customers.

“Today we have to control logistics in our company, and for this purpose it is very important to have software which we now use with AMCS, which just offers the complete solution. This means that the operation can be displayed in 360 degrees. It gives me the transparency and insights in the business to be in control and to know what is going on in the company at any time. This enables continuous improvement.

“When I talk to people outside of our industry today, they often wonder how we deal with the complexities in our business. Metal is not a unified product. Scrap is always different in terms of quality, contamination, etc. Also, prices fluctuate every day. I cannot imagine how to handle all this if we did not have a solution to automate our contract management, the contract administration, our position management, price adjustments and more.

“This is only possible if you can map all facets of the metal trade in one system and AMCS Platform is doing it better and better.”
