AIRLINE COLLECTION FROM BREITLING
Breitling is celebrating the golden era of commercial aviation with its new capsule collection of Navitimer 1 Airline Editions – an ode to the pioneering airlines of the 1960s and 1970s. The watchmaker has heritage in the aviation industry, supplying chronographs both in the form of pilot wristwatches and for flight decks. The collection launches with a Navitimer 1 B01 Chronograph 43 Swissair Edition in April, with the airline’s logo printed on a transparent sapphire caseback. There’s more to come, with carriers
Pan Am and TWA to appear on future timepieces. The watches are priced at £6,530.

PARAGUAYANS ARE A HAPPY LOT. According to Gallup’s Positive Experience Index, people from this landlocked South American nation are privy to a host of feel-good emotions. So what do they have that the
rest of us don’t? Aſter all, society here is gravely unequal and corruption is rife. Many cite the Paraguayans’
incredibly laid-back attitude as the key to their happiness. Others believe it’s all down to an ability to live for the moment rather than worrying about the future. Head out of the main city,
Asuncion (one of the cheapest capitals on the planet), and there’s much to raise a smile. In surface area, Paraguay is just larger than Japan. Bisected by the Rio Paraguay, it’s split into the forested eastern region, Paranena, and the emptier marshy plains of the Chaco in the west. A typical tour of the country might take in the waterfalls of Iguazu or Saltos del Monday, the wetlands of Pantanal and the Jesuit ruins of La Santisima Trinidad de Parana. Whatever, you’ll leave happier than you came.

Who’s behind it? It was started in 2006 by Swedes Mikael Robertsson and Olov Lindberg, who wanted to attract visitors to their airline price comparison website. Tey initially installed ADS-B receivers on the roofs of their homes to track planes in the skies above Stockholm.
