Enabling Accessibility in Libraries Hosted by CILIP East

The CILIP East Member Network has teamed up with the Royal National Institute for Blind People (RNIB) to deliver a workshop on how to make libraries more accessible. The two hour online event will cover topics such as: accessible reading materials and information, tech tips on accessibility settings on comput- ers and smartphones, and customer service guidance on how to help customers. We hope this workshop can provide you with helpful and practical tips to help make libraries more accessible for all library users, with a focus on blind and partially sighted library users.

Alpine Club Library, Shoreditch The Alpine Club, based in Shoreditch, London, is the oldest mountaineering club in the world, founded in 1857 to facilitate access and exploration of the mountains of the world. The Library, housed in the Club’s premises, has an unrivalled collection of over 30,000 books, magazines, club journals, expedition reports and rare historic material. It also provides access to the Club’s collection of maps. Num- bers are strictly limited and places should be confirmed in advance.
