Latest announcements for CILIP Conference

CILIP Conference is just a few weeks away, and here conference organiser Louise Greener takes a look at the latest announcements and highlights for this year’s conference, which takes place in Birmingham on 10 and 11 July. Places are still available and can be booked at www.cilipconference.org.uk.

CILIP Conference is making its return to the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, with plenty on offer for those looking to build their leadership skills, no matter where you are in your career. CILIP Conference will also help you to gain a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities across the sector, and how to navigate them. Over the past few months, Information Professional has been speaking to some of this year’s keynote speakers for CILIP Conference. With themes that focus on important issues for every library, knowl- edge and information professional, this year’s conference will provide the UK’s only opportunity for the profession’s varied sec- tors to come together, share ideas and build new connections.

With a focus on intellectual freedom and its associated themes of freedom of expres- sion, censorship and information rights, conference will build on CILIP’s ethical values and help delegates develop their own responses to the increased challenges that the profession is facing in these areas.

The programme will also explore: l developing future literacy as a leader;

l the sector’s response to the UN Sustaina- bility Goals; l crisis and strategic communications; l KM & IM | ROI and lessons learned;

l building future resilience in the face of continuing resource and budget pressures.
