Libraries Change Lives: Sharing stories of impact

A General Election will be taking place within weeks and CILIP has been asking for your stories of positive impact from library services so that we can share them.

WITH the UK gearing up for a general election in July, CILIP has been work- ing to build and strengthen connections with politicians and decision makers so that they truly understand the impact and value that library and information professionals add to communities. CILIP will use the stories that are added to the portal to demonstrate to MPs, the new government, and key stakehold- ers how services are already supporting policy aims across a variety of priorities – from health and wellbeing, education, skills and learning to levelling-up, economic sustainability and innovation.

Each and every story added to the portal will help to build an evidence base to strengthen the voice and advocacy for the profession. If

The visit was arranged as part of a wider reading initiative that goes far beyond improv- ing literacy levels. The Reading Group meets once a month and “brings together a group who wouldn’t necessarily find something in common, and creates a feeling of wellbeing,
