Eden News Come and

This summer we’re inviting children to come and play at Eden. Nature’s Playground, our new natural adventure play area, opens this July, featuring almost 500 square metres of play activities, including slides, swing sets, water play, suspended nets and even a miniature clay quarry. The playground’s centrepiece is the

majestic Tree of Life, a nine-metre-high tower that children can scramble, crawl and climb through, and they can shoot down the corkscrew tube slide when they reach the top. Nature’s Playground nestles

seamlessly within the slopes and woodland overlooking the Core. It is designed to spark the imagination, incorporating play activities that encourage problem-solving and teamwork. The playground is made from natural and sustainable materials, including robinia, larch and living willow, alongside locally quarried stone, cork, recycled fabric and nets.

play! Eden invited families to participate

in the early design and testing stages with the playground’s designers, TouchWood Play, where they learned about the traditional craftsmanship and pioneering technology behind the playground’s design. Playing outside in nature has real

benefits for children, especially in a well-designed play area, improving strength, coordination and confidence, as well as reducing the likelihood of myopia. Children feel very happy in nature, so we think they will really enjoy Nature’s Playground. Becky Bennett

Nature’s Playground opens to the public on 8 July.

Access to Nature’s Playground is included in our admission price and free to Members and Local Pass holders, but we’re using timed tickets to make sure children all get the chance to enjoy themselves without overcrowding. Book online: edenproject.com/play
