Avondale families and children ages 2-8 are invited to attend our Summer Lunch ‘N Learn Program where we provide fun social-emotional learning, lessons and skill-building! Lunch will be provided for children through St. Mary’s Summer feeding program.

TIPS TO AVOID HEAT-RELATED ILLNESS


} Increase fluid intake regardless of activity level. Staying hydrated is extremely important.

} Limit exercise or outdoor activity between the hours of 11 am and 3 pm.


} When outdoors, wear a sunscreen with a minimum SPF 15 and re-apply often. Wear a hat, lightweight clothing and sunglasses.


} Rest frequently in shady or cool areas to give the body's temperature a chance to recover and cool down.


} Never leave adults, children or pets inside a parked vehicle.


We are receiving water donations at the center and are also able to provide individu- als with a drink of water and a temporary location to cool off from May 1 – Sep 30. For more information call (623) 333-2703.
