Hearing & Vision Screenings (For families with children ages 0 - 5 years)


Screenings can help spot potential issues that might affect their development and get children the extra help they may need. These services can make a big difference for a child and their family. Resources will be offered to those families in need of further support for hearing and vision. Call (623) 333-2703 for an appointment.


Family Talks Parent


Support Group Join us in an open-ended discussion about the joys and difficulties of parenting. Connect with others and share parenting tips and resources. This is a great opportunity to learn about programming and workshops in your community while forming new relationships with other parents and guardians.

Children ages 3 to 8 years old will be engaged in hands-on activities and live science demonstrations as they learn about various fun topics that bring science to life. Pre-registration is required.

Child Car Seat Education Program


Nearly 4 out of 5 car seats are used incorrectly. Learn how to secure your children the right way. A nationally certified technician will help ensure your car seat is properly installed. Car seats may be provided at no cost based on need, results of inspection and availability.


CPR & First Aid Training


Classes are held on the first Tuesday and third Friday of each month from 9 am to 1 pm. Two-year certification cards will be issued upon successful completion of skills.


Unless otherwise noted, classes/programs on pages 36 & 37 are FREE and intended for parents and caregivers of children 0 to 5 years. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED and can be done by scanning the QR code at right, calling (623) 333-2703, or via email at AFERP@avondaleaz.gov.
