The Southwest Family Advocacy Center offers Community Awareness Prevention Education classes to the public, at no cost. All classes are hosted virtually via Zoom, and are perfect for everyone who works with and cares for children. Parents, grandparents, foster parents, educators, faith-based leaders, youth-serving organizations, and childcare provid- ers are encouraged to join.

DRIVERS
STOP - Follow all posted signs. Make complete stops and slow down in school zones and around children.
LOOK - Pay close attention to children as they walk near the streets. Pay attention to potential dangers so you are prepared to react. Put your phone down.
LISTEN - Turn your music down so you can listen to the children and you can prepare for sudden stops if they veer into the street.
PEDESTRIANS STOP - Make sure you stop before stepping onto any road.
LOOK - Look both ways before crossing into any street and look at drivers before crossing to ensure they saw you. Put your phone down.
LISTEN - Listen for any sounds of vehicles approaching or people advising of potential dangers. Take your head- phones off.
