NEW TOOLS AND EASY PROCESSES TO HELP YOU BUILD!
Ever thought about doing a home addition, remodeling the interior, building a new building, or adding a patio cover? Well, you’ll need City zoning approval fi rst and in many cases a building permit for your project. But don’t worry, we are here to help you along the way.
First, call our Development Services Department at (623) 333-4000 to verify if your proposed project can occur with your property’s zoning district. Then, we will connect you with a building code specialist if a building permit is needed.
You can submit a building permit online through our online Accela Citizen Access permit portal. Once a complete application is received and a completeness review by staff occurs, your proposal will be routed for review. Your plans will be reviewed
through our new Bluebeam software making for an effi cient process. Our plan review times are only 16 business days for 1st review and 8 business days for subsequent reviews. That is speedy! When your project is ready for approval, we will notify you and get you on your way to construction. Don’t forget you need to contact our building inspection team for the required life safety building code inspections throughout construction using our new Selectron text-to-inspect system.
