AVONDALE, A SUSTAINABLE CITY

ON ENERGY COSTS SAVE $

Simplify your life by doing away with piles of paper bills!

Paperless Utility Billing

Avondale utility customers will soon have the option to choose e-Statements. Customers choosing to register for paperless billing will no longer receive paper statements through the mail.

Some of the benefits of e-Statements:

` Convenience – Review your statements at any time, day or night.

` Fast – e-Statements can be accessed days before a paper statement would arrive in the mail.

` Efficient – e-Statements contain the same information as a traditional paper statement.

` Secure – Reduce the risk of statements being lost or stolen in the mail.

` Environmentally Friendly – Stay clutter free and conserve resources (paper) by accessing your statement directly from your email.

✓ Have your home’s ducts tested and sealed to make sure you are not wasting cooled air.

✓ Adding attic insulation to reduce cooling loss.

✓ Make sure the seals around your windows and doors are in good shape.

The summer heat is coming, along with high energy bills. But there are steps you can take to save energy even when the air conditioning is running full-blast.

✓ Set your thermostat so the air conditioner is not constantly on when no one is home.

✓ Seal gaps around your chimney and pipes entering the exterior walls of your home.

✓ Use curtains or blinds to block sunlight that could warm your home.

✓ Change your air conditioner filter as recommended, usually monthly.

Energy efficiency saves you money and and improves sustainability. You can find more energy-saving tips at www.avondaleaz.gov/livinggreen.
