Care1st Avondale Resource Center


Southwest Valley residents seeking access to housing and human services have a one-stop shop facility in Avondale.


Services Offered Include: ` Tutoring in English and literacy ` Teen pregnancy support ` Employment services ` Parent education


` AHCCCS, TANF, SNAP and Affordable Care Act Application and Enrollment


` WIC (Women, Infant and Children) Services


` Rental and utility assistance ` Citizenship classes ` Medicare benefits counseling ` Housing assistance, programs and referrals ` Legal aid services ` Domestic violence support groups ` Veteran Resources


The first of its kind in the Southwest Valley, this multifaceted hub for human services is made possible by the innovative public and private partnership between Care1st Health Plan of Arizona, Inc., First Things First and the City of Avondale. Contract services are funded in part under contract with the state of Arizona.


Hours of Operation Mon. - Thur., 8 am to 7 pm; Friday, 9 am to 5 pm Third Saturday of the Month, 9 am - 1 pm

Small business loans for start-up and existing businesses located within the City’s revitalization neighborhoods of Historic Avondale, Cashion, Las Ligas, and Rio Vista.


ELIGIBLE USES:


`Working capital `Acquire furniture, fixtures, and equipment `Commercial rehabilitation The maximum loan amount is $50,000.


Program participants will receive business advising services from Prestamos.


The City of Avondale assists property owners with exterior improvements to commercial properties located within Historic Avondale and Cashion.


ELIGIBLE IMPROVEMENTS:


`Correction of Commercial Code Violations


`Windows `Doors


FUNDING:


`Applicants may be awarded up to $50,000 as a non- amortizing forgivable loan


`Applicant responsible for 25% of the total project cost
