CPR TRAINING
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training will soon be a requirement for high school graduation for all public and charter schools. With training, students will have the tools and confidence to start CPR in an emergency.
Avondale Fire & Medical Department will be providing certified Hands-Only CPR lifesaving training to high school students in Avondale.
` Date: June 26 & 27, 2018 (must attend both days for certification)
` Time: 9 am - 1 pm ` Cost: $25 per student
For ages 12 - 17. Students will learn CPR, first aid, fire and life safety and hazard mitigation, safe business practices, situational awareness, childcare basics, drowning awareness and prevention.

Step or jump into water over your head and return to the surface.

Float or tread water for one minute.

Turn around in a full circle and find an exit from the water.
Swim 25 yards to the exit.

Exit from the water. If in a pool, be able to exit without using the ladder.
Learn more at

Watch your kids when they are in and around water, without distraction.
Teach children to swim and the 5 Water Survival Skills.
Learn CPR and basic rescue skills.
Make sure pools have four-sided fencing at least 4 feet high.
