WELCOME TO THE FAMILY from director john wicker
Serving park guests of all ages is something I strive doing across LA County. When I started working here, a common scene at any park was that of parents having a good time with their children. It was also common to see seniors socializing at senior centers. One sight was quite rare: teens at our park. Adolescent years are critical, and as a department, we decided to act. We started to get teens involved in our parks through programs such as H.E.A.T. (high energy activities for teens). Our latest program for teens is Our Spot. In this program, teens socialize in a safe place, and we empower them to reach their full potential. We hope you enjoy this edition dedicated to teens.
ACTIVITY GUIDE
Thanks for checking our P&R Magazine! We are excited to share our amazing programs with you. You’ll find that the County is quite large and is composed of various agencies.
In this magazine, each agency has its own section and it contains all you need: location maps, activities, classes, special events, sports, park ads and much more.
