NEW TAPS TRAINING OFFERS ‘PRACTICAL TOOLS & TIPS’ FOR REMOTE VIRTUAL AUDITING TO SUPPORT ALL TAPA STANDARDS
TAPA EMEA has received exceptional feedback from participants who took part in the region’s first TAPS Remote Virtual Auditing procedure training course, designed to support companies using all current versions of TAPA’s Security Standards.
The course was divided over two 4-hour training sessions a week apart and was delivered for TAPS (a TAPA EMEA subsidiary) by Jeff Dowson, a leading independent auditing expert with longstanding experience of the TAPA Standards. Feedback from course participants included...
‘In these COVID19 pandemic times, it is good to see that organizations like TAPA EMEA and their partners think “out of box” and come up with solutions like “remote virtual auditing”. This provides the members with business continuity solutions for the different certifications in their portfolio. I found the course very informative, providing lots of practical tools and tips, but also highlighting the remote virtual audit pitfalls and risks already detected. Within Ingram Micro, we already have performed two remote virtual TAPA FSR A audits last week and this week, and this course has assisted us in building a stronger program for the auditor to verify and audit.’
Jouri De Vylder, Executive Director Security, EMEA & APAC, Ingram Micro
‘I’d certainly recommend this course for anyone interested in remote audits within the transport and warehouse industry. Good insights into what customers might expect. More importantly, it gives clear guidance in the preparation of a remote audit and what to expect from a “live” tour. It really helped me understand how to get the best from the remote process. The course will benefit anyone from novices to experienced auditors. Facilitated in a friendly but business-like manner. Jeff is a perfect host.’ Ru Kay, Security & Customs Compliance Manager, Goldstar Heathrow
The next TAPA EMEA Remote Virtual Auditing course will take place on the mornings of 2 & 8 July and will, once again, combine theoretical and practical training, culminating in a real-life audit, for a maximum of 12 participants.
The course is not TAPA Standard specific and is suitable for any auditing discipline. A certificate will be issued to all participants on completion of the course.

‘I would like to recommend the Remote Auditing course for those who may be audited remotely or required to conduct a remote audit. The course presenter, Jeff Dowson provides a friendly, fast-paced approach, together with a wealth of experience. The course covers HSE, Quality and Risk assignments across a variety of business sectors. The icing on the cake was a “real” remote audit arranged by TAPA EMEA and hosted by a large TAPA-certified logistics company in Germany. This experience was planned at the end of the course to enable us to apply Jeff’s training and advice to organise a successful remote audit – e.g. technical awareness, planning around remote audit ‘limitations’ and, most importantly, preparation! I have recommended the course to my colleagues.’
